Donors automatically receive a tax certificate in the following year for the total amount (from €40) of all your donations from the previous year. KU Leuven reports to the tax authorities who receives a tax certificate. Starting in 2025, it will be mandatory to include the national register number. This allows the tax authorities to reliably identify the person, and the certificate will be automatically linked to their tax return. It is possible that your national register number is not yet in our database. Please provide it via [this web form] and easily update your address details at the same time. You can find information on how we handle donor data [here]. We are committed to treating donor information with confidentiality and discretion. When we communicate an overview of donations (e.g., to mark a life event, a campaign, etc.), this means that personal data may only be used in the context of the Parel Project. In any case, this data can never be shared with third parties. Publicly disclosing such confidential information (e.g., in print, online, or by mentioning it at an event) is not allowed unless we have the donor’s explicit consent. Donors count on us to protect their privacy, and together we ensure this commitment is upheld.

Is the Parel Project close to your heart as a company or organisation? For donations up to €10,000, this can be done via a regular bank transfer; for larger amounts, a letter of intent should be signed in advance.

If you donate at least €40 annually, you are entitled to a tax certificate and a 45% tax deduction on the donated amount. You will receive your certificate in March of the year following your donation.

Our department encourages the use of the [online donation form]. In this form, donors are required to provide their email address. Donors will in any case receive a thank-you letter from our department. We can also include a personalised paragraph in this letter for your Parel Project.
